Workshop: Roger Dellar

A wonderfully relaxed workshop with long time friend of the club, Roger Dellar.

He began with a demonstration of oil painting. Sketch in your big shapes, then paint in your darks, followed by your mid tones, then your lights and the little details, adjust, refine, all the while stepping back to check the way the composition is working. It’s always very satisfying to watch this process!

Then over to the members, each working on their own compositions - some in pastel, some oils, one or two in acrylic. Roger circulated round, spending time with each artist, offering guidance and support, and, as usual, managing to bring the best out in all of us.
