Meet the Ringwood Art Society Committee

  • Jen Oulton

    CHAIRPERSON

Art and Music have always been of equal importance to Jen Oulton. Following a combined degree in Art and Music she became a flute teacher and set up her own bookbindery. A move to Ringwood and a young family meant there wasn’t much time for art, but the flute teaching went from strength to strength. It wasn’t long however before pencils and paint started to feature again. Jen has a love of colour and is influenced by the work of Matisse, Vuillard and the Impressionists, although next week it will probably be Picasso, Kandinsky and Ken Howard!

  • Jan Martyn

    TREASURER

RAS Treasurer since 2014, Jan has worked in finance for most of her working life. Since becoming Treasurer, Jan has created a computer system for recording all the Society’s finances, making year ends analysis quick and easy and allow card payments. She also paints animal portraits and landscapes in all mediums.

  • Ann Humphrey

    CO-EXHIBITIONS SECRETARY AND NEWSLETTER

Since retiring, Ann has been able to devote more time to working outdoors, sketching and painting. “I enjoy experimenting with various techniques to develop my ideas”.

  • Elvie O'Hanlon

Elvie lives in Ringwood but spent most of her life in Asia and fortunate to have lived in many countries throughout Asia and the Middle East. In particular, India provided a rich source of subjects and study opportunities and it was here that Elvie developed her love of painting.

She usually work in oils but enjoys working with a variety of media. She studied at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts in Singapore, Central St. Martin’s in London and Dubai Arts Centre in the United Arab Emirates.

She has attended Plein Air workshops in Portugal, Venice, Tuscany and Crete tutored by Roger Dellar, a member of the Wapping Group and ROI.

“I do not shy away from colour”. Naturally drawn to colourful art gives an energy boost. “Colour makes me smile and I love painting flowers”.
