Welcome to Ringwood Art Society

Ringwood Art Society is a very friendly, active and thriving club with an ever growing membership.
We meet at Greyfriars Community Centre in Ringwood, on the 3rd Monday of each month, for a demonstration in a variety of different media.
We hold life painting afternoons and workshops in different media during the winter months and we meet to paint on location during the summer.
Our annual summer exhibition is held at Greyfriars during August and we have opportunities during the year to exhibit at other venues.

How to find us...

Guests are very welcome to join us for our demonstrations each month for a charge of £5.

We are very pleased and proud to announce that another of our members has been selected to become a Full Member of The Society of Botanical Artists. Linda Pitt, who has been a member of RAS for some years now, achieved this honour very recently, here's what she says: "To become an Associate Member of the SBA one has to have 5 pictures selected by the 'Council' for exhibition two years running. The "Council" consists of a group of internationally renowned botanical artists. Once one is an Associate member one has to  have 5 more pictures accepted the next year, then you may be offered full membership but that is not set in stone, it is at the discretion of the Council so you just have to keep going until they think your standard of work is consistently good enough. To be judged good enough is a fantastic feeling...."

The Society of Botanical Artists www.soc-botanical-artists.org was founded in 1985 by Suzanne Lucas MBE,FLS,HPRMS to bring together botanical artists of repute to create a focus for the continuation of the centuries-old tradition of excellence in this unique aspect of art. The first Open Exhibition took place in 1986 at the Mall Galleries.
Since then the society has grown in numbers and reputation.

The Ringwood Art Society was formed in 1968 to provide opportunities for members to extend their knowledge and interest in art generally, to provide a means for members to exhibit and possibly sell their work and to stimulate an interest in art amongst members of the public.
