First Plein Air of theYear

The first plein air of the year - postponed once already because of bad weather but we were determined to go ahead. Woolly hats, mitts and many other layers were the order of the day.

The kind folks at Breamore House let us into the grounds although they are officially closed until Easter. The house and grounds are beautiful. The house itself dates from Tudor times, with woodland on one side and parkland on the other.

I would like to claim that we all chose the most fascinating view - but they keep a particularly icy, piercing breeze at Breamore at this time of year, so the majority of RAS members decided that the old clock tower that could be painted from the shelter of a rather lovely ancient wall suited us very well indeed..

Was that a row of penguins waddling along the horizon..?
